Serah opened a cabinet in her desk, withdrawing a rather large folder, and placed in on the desk, it landed with a small thud, and shook the bottle of water sitting next to Serah. It was large as a novel one would find in the mystery section of the library, it had bright red [CAUTION] tape wrapped around it. She glared at the interviewer, then stared into the camera, allowing them to take in the image. "And now... we have Katherine Thárros."

"Katherine first appeared on our radar in 1883, came off an immigration boat from Hades under the name... Harleen Jade. She was arrested within six weeks for preventing a robbery. Now, you might be thinking, why would she be arrested? Well. She broke the guy's arm in four places, shattered his nose, and left him in a pool of piss n' blood. We let her off with a warning, told her not to do it again, yada-yada. Well, low and behold, we had to book her for vigilantism when we caught her breaking into a drug ring. This time, we told her if we caught her again, she'd be going away for a long time. It wasn't until oh...1890 we figured out this Harleen and Katherine were the same person. Truly we were idiots back then, but I digress. We didn't hear anything from her, we assumed she was just some young kid working out anger through...her own form of justice, and what we said finally got through to her." She paused, putting a photo of The White Fox, an infamous vigilante from the 60's. "It was about four months after we dealt with Harleen that the White Fox started hitting criminals around Athens. A year after The Fox showed up, it started hitting the Gryffion family." She smiled, "It was when she showed up, that the Gryffions started to crumble."

Rain pelted Katherine as she stood waiting for her ally Cypher to arrive. She opened her eyes to see Captain Simmons of the Athens police force doing the same, taking a swig from his flask, wincing as whatever was in the container go down. She pitied the man, really. His red-brown hair had gone white, Maria had informed her his wife left him for another man in Parádeisos, his son was all grown up and moved out of the house, his job was truly the only thing he had left, and he only had a year or two before he'd be forced to retire.

Katherine turned quickly as she heard something behind her, hand on her sidearm ready to strike, she saw Cypher standing there hand on her left wrist. Cypher was dressed in all-black leather, what appeared to be stitch marks all around her suit to any onlooker who'd usually only get a quick second long glance at her would assume they were, were really pockets. In them were the tools of her trade, caltrops, smoke grenades, ropes with claws on the end to catch her fall. The thing she was most proud of, however was her twin-pronged switch blade, housed in a gauntlet on her right wrist. When activated, it would pop out above her hand, giving her a distinct advantage in a fight. Cypher had offered to make her a similar weapon on several occasions, but she always declined, much to Cypher's disappointment. Cypher's most odd outfit choice, was that she didn't bother to hide her beautiful blue-green eyes from the world. When out on patrol, she would only draw her hood up, and wear a sort of silver colored face protector, with two side exhaust ports, which when cold enough, Katherine could see her breath vent out. At least once Katherine had told her to invest in a full face mask, but Cypher insisted she would be fine, "No one's going to figure out who I am from my eyes." And she had a point, most people from Athens had the same eye color as her.

Katherine on the other hand wore and all-white body suit, with black trimming, a hood that connected at her neck, when drawn up would transform into a cowl, covering most of her head, extending a bit past her nose giving it an edge, and a mesh would go over her mouth, forming a protective layer from gasses, and would help keep her identity secretive. Also, without her consent Maria had Tristan install two Fox ears on the top of the cowl. Maria insisted it looked adorable, but Katherine infuriated, stated she had to look intimidating, not cute. Tristan lovingly installed some other features such as a cape that would extend and retract on command when a switch was hit to help her while falling, and would allow her to temporarily glide a short distance. The suit had worked wonders in striking fear into criminals. Who would commit a crime when a woman dressed like a fox could maul you at any moment.

Katherine had met Cypher four months prior, it was her first night on patrol, Katherine had heard a break-in happening at a local bank and went to stop it. However when she arrived on the scene, all the would-be thieves were laid out on the floor, scratch marks littering their bodies, with Cypher instead rifling through their bags and taking some of their profit. Katherine gave chase, cornering her on a nearby roof. The two fought, Cypher explained she wasn't stealing all of the money, only enough to get by. Katherine shook off the notion and remained silent. Eventually, Katherine won though sheer luck, and a surprise drone strike to the back of Cypher's head, Katherine was able to get the upper hand and pin the other to the ground. Much to Katherine's surprise, Cypher only laughed and said "You got me."

Since then the two have teamed up quite often on patrols, stopping crime, giving Simmons reports on possible activity. But most nights were quiet, the two would spend those nights sparring, discussing possible ways to improve their fighting, or just taking a nap on what they considered to be a safe rooftop, which sounded silly to her now, but Katherine preferred those nights to those where they were fighting for their lives taking on the occasional well-armed thugs. She loved the nights where they were just cuddled against each other, and she was sure Cypher did too, even if she couldn't admit it. The two had grown close over the past few months, so much so they established a rule: No names. They could tell each other everything else about their lives, but names were off limits. This didn't stop Katherine from teasingly dropping a hint she went to a local school.

"You look like hell." Katherine said in a mocking tone, her voiced digitally altered to sound far deeper than it usually would "What took you so long?" Katherine turned back toward Eric, who now had a bit of a bounce in his step as he was waiting patiently.

"Oh, stopped a mugging, saved a kids' parents from getting shot, got a crowbar to the wrist." Cypher replied, motioning to her left arm.

Katherine turned back to Cypher, "Are you okay?"

Cypher waved her off "Oh yeah, nothing some ice won't fix. Besides, you shouldn't be saying I look like hell. You dress up like a Fox every night."

"Not every night." Katherine replied with a chuckle. But she was right, Katherine had little room to talk. "Are you ready?"

"As always."

The two leapt onto the opposing rooftop as the rain increased it's punishment. Simmons turned and nodded to the two. "Evening."

"How's the department?" Katherine asked

"Still not entirely on-board with you two helping us out, especially the Commissioner."

"Well, did you follow up on what we gave you?" Cypher asked, crossing her arms, squinting as she held her wrist.

"We did, we did." Simmons said, looking away "It was a drug den, well armed drug den. Two officers have been hospitalized, one's in the ER." He trailed off "But we got 'em."

"I'm sorry, give them my condolences." Katherine said

"I did-I mean, I will. Thank you." Simmons said, nodding "Quiet night?"

"For the most part." Cypher said "You have anything for us?"

"Not unless you can break the Grant case." Simmons said with a dry smile, "No, not really."

Katherine gave him a small bow and turned to leave, "Then I'll be off."

Cypher turned her head to Katherine "Wait, what?"

"Yeah." Katherine said "I got a History test tomorrow."

Simmons blinked "Are you serious?"

"No, I just don't want to stand outside in the pouring rain when I don't have to."

Cypher let out a sigh and looked at Simmons "She's got a point." and started to follow Katherine's example.

"Good night, Captain." Katherine said as she leapt from the roof.

"Stay out of trouble!" Simmons shouted to Katherine, and glared at Cypher "Well, you gonna say goodbye?"

"Nah." Cypher said, shaking her head and jumping, giving Simmons the middle finger.
